The People Behind NERVA

NERVA is built on people, not programmes.

Each session is held by individuals who bring lived experience, practical skill, and a grounded presence. We don’t claim to fix anyone. We create the conditions for men to reset, reflect, and reconnect.

Below are the people who help make that possible.

“Every facilitator involved in NERVA has been personally chosen based on long-standing trust, shared values, and methods I’ve experienced myself.
Nothing is added for trend or image — only what feels real, steady, and proven.”

Taylor

Founder & Host

I created NERVA from a simple belief: men need spaces where they can slow down without being analysed, fixed, or judged.

I’m a father and business owner. I understand the quiet pressure many men carry, responsibility, expectation, performance, and constant mental load.

My role isn’t to act as a therapist or guru.
It’s to host structured environments where men can regulate, reflect, and rebuild strength at their own pace.

With a background in business, community-building, and long-standing interest in physical training and nervous system resilience, I focus on clarity, structure, and consistency.

Sessions are calm. Steady. Intentional.

Sam

Sam has been guiding sound sessions for over five years, developing a steady and considered approach that prioritises presence over performance.

Her work centres on creating calm, structured environments where people can properly switch off. There is no spectacle and no pressure — just carefully held space and clear intention.

At NERVA, Sam brings quiet confidence to Sonic Reset. She holds the room with consistency and care, allowing men to settle without expectation or judgement.

Sound Facilitator

Lawrie

Wildfire Facilitator

Lawrie served 22 years in the British Army and earned full Army Colours for sea fishing during his time in service.

For over 30 years, he has been involved in the Scouts, teaching practical bushcraft skills across all ages. Including shelter building, fire lighting, water purification, cordage making, and responsible outdoor living.

Having experienced his own mental health challenges, Lawrie later trained as a Mental Health First Aider, motivated by a desire to support others in steady, practical ways.

Wildfire sessions reflect his approach: simple skills, fire, tea, woodland, and unforced conversation. Nothing dramatic. Nothing performative. Just time outside, learning something real, and allowing space for perspective to return.

Where we Hold the Work

MaxWell-Being (Durley, Hampshire)

NERVA’s core sessions are hosted at Maxwell-Being, a purpose-built space in the Hampshire countryside.

The setting is calm and private, designed to support structured work without distraction, including sauna facilities, outdoor space, and dedicated indoor areas for guided sessions.

The environment matters.

It allows the nervous system to settle properly, without noise or interruption.

Maxwell-Being shares NERVA’s belief in practical, grounded approaches to wellbeing, making it a natural base for ongoing men’s work.

Community and Support Partners

NERVA works alongside local individuals and organisations whose values align with ours: practical, grounded, and community-focused.

“NERVA is the result of shared belief and community support.

I’m grateful to everyone who stood behind the work, and to those who stood behind me.”

New Forest Tea Company

NERVA sessions often close around a cup of tea. The New Forest Tea Company supports selected sessions by providing blends that suit the seasons and restorative tone of our work.

Their focus on craft and locality fits naturally with the environment we aim to create.

Community Supporter

Fillip Counselling

NERVA is not therapy.

We recognise that structured group work is not always enough on its own.

Philip Bird is a qualified counsellor working locally. Where appropriate, NERVA may signpost individuals toward professional one-to-one support.

Community Ally

Man Down

Man Down is a men’s mental health charity focused on reducing isolation through in-person connection. NERVA shares a similar belief in the importance of men gathering together in real spaces.

We value alignment with organisations working to strengthen community resilience.
